What’s new

Flashpoint Managed Attribution now includes a built-in anonymous browser alongside the persistent Managed VM, bringing the full investigative lifecycle into a single, fully managed solution.

Security and intelligence teams have long been forced to choose between tools that are fast but limited, or powerful but slow to spin up. This update eliminates that tradeoff. Whether an analyst needs to quickly triage a suspicious link or conduct a weeks-long technical investigation, Flashpoint Managed Attribution now provides the right tool for the job, without requiring teams to stitch together separate programs or manage their own infrastructure.

Why it matters

Investigations rarely follow a straight line. A suspicious link can lead to a malicious file, and a quick triage can turn into a weeks-long threat actor engagement. The tools analysts rely on need to keep pace with investigations, wherever they lead.

Browser-only solutions hit a wall the moment an analyst needs to install a program, download a dataset, or maintain a long-term persona on a dark web forum. DIY virtual machines and burner laptops introduce compliance risks, infrastructure overhead, and operational security gaps that can compromise an investigation entirely. Fragmented toolsets force analysts to make tradeoffs between speed and depth that they shouldn’t have to make.

With the new updates, Flashpoint Managed Attribution eliminates those tradeoffs. By combining an instant-access anonymous browser with a fully persistent Managed VM, analysts can move fluidly from triage to deep investigation without switching tools, exposing their identity, or waiting on IT to stand up new infrastructure. The result is a complete, centrally managed environment that keeps analysts focused on the work rather than the tooling.

How it works

The updated Managed Attribution environment brings two purpose-built tools together under one roof:

The Anonymous Browser delivers instant, isolated sessions for rapid triage. Key capabilities include:

  • Rotating exit IPs to mask analyst identity during active research
  • Zero-persistence sessions that wipe all cookies and history on close
  • Instant access with no infrastructure setup or spin-up time required
  • The ability to take notes, screenshots, and collect evidence to refer back to after the session ends

The Persistent Managed VM provides a full virtual environment for deep investigations. Key capabilities include:

  • Full desktop environment for installing and executing custom tools, scripts, and applications
  • Static IPs and persistent session data for building and maintaining long-term threat actor personas
  • Local storage for downloading and analyzing large datasets, such as ransomware leak files

Flashpoint Managed Attribution connects directly to the Ignite Platform, allowing analysts to pivot from an alert to an active investigation with ease.
