As Flashpoint’s Executive Director for Global Security, Andrew Borene leverages two decades of experience achieving strategic outcomes and operational goals for international enterprises demanding professional, ethical, and high quality intelligence for high-risk/high-payoff decisions.
In addition to his work at Flashpoint, Andrew supports international capacity building efforts and serves on the Editorial Board of the European Marshall Center’s Partnership for Peace Consortium and the board of the Special Operations Association of America (SOAA). He is an active member of the Council on Foreign Relations, UK’s Chatham House, and the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI).
He is a former officer at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) and the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC), where he led initiatives on counterintelligence, counterterrorism, open-source intelligence (OSINT), privacy, and advanced technology. Andrew was CEO of a publicly-traded encryption technology company, and has also held leadership roles in Fortune 500 companies.
Previously, he has been an Associate Deputy General Counsel at the Pentagon and an advisor at CIA. A Marine Corps combat veteran with various military awards, his civilian recognition includes the FBI Director’s Award and the ODNI Exceptional Achievement Award.
