In a year marked by increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks, organizations across all sectors faced unprecedented challenges to their security posture. Throughout 2024, corporations across the globe faced a surge in information-stealing malware which compromised over 53 million credentials, and emboldened threat actors to carry out crippling ransomware attacks that led to high-profile data breaches.
As a mission-driven company, we rose to the challenge and rushed to the virtual frontlines to support our customers—delivering critical innovations to help them stay ahead of evolving threats. We made it easier for security teams to source the actionable intelligence and insights they need by leveraging our best-in-class intelligence that’s enhanced and driven by dependable artificial intelligence (AI).
These are the latest Flashpoint enhancements, features, and innovations that are helping the world’s leading organizations protect people, places, and assets.
Flashpoint Ignite and Echosec Enhancements: Better Data Matters
Fraud Intelligence
Financial and credit card fraud continues to evolve at an alarming pace, with cybercriminals employing increasingly sophisticated techniques to steal funds and compromise sensitive data. To better protect our customers, we integrated Flashpoint’s fraud intelligence dataset into Ignite last year, in addition to providing customers with direct access to our new extensive collection of infostealer logs. As a result, users have more visibility into compromised credit card information, empowering faster and more accurate detection of fraud.
Identity Intelligence
Flashpoint expanded our Identity Intelligence capabilities last year, providing organizations with the data and tools they need to protect customers, employees, and critical assets from identity-related threats, such as unauthorized access and account takeovers. With Flashpoint’s comprehensive intelligence and advanced solutions, security teams can proactively detect compromised credentials, analyze malware linked to identity theft, and investigate threat actor activity.
Investigations Management
Flashpoint introduced Investigations Management within Ignite in 2024, a new feature designed to transform how security teams conduct research, manage investigations, and collaborate. This centralized hub streamlines the entire investigative process, enabling teams to consolidate data, monitor progress, and ensure continuity across every stage of an investigation.
With Investigations Management, teams can gather and organize all relevant data on a threat in one place. This includes intelligence reports, threat actor profiles, current news articles, illicit marketplace chatter, and more—providing a single source of truth to drive faster, more informed decision making.
Vulnerability Intelligence
Last year, we also introduced new enhancements to Ignite’s vulnerability intelligence module, giving security teams the capability to map vulnerabilities to the MITRE ATT&CK© framework. The integrated MITRE ATT&CK© mapping within Ignite enables organizations to identify potential exploitation paths, map vulnerabilities to likely attacker behaviors, and develop pre-emptive mitigation strategies.
In addition, we also released Flashpoint’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (FP KEV) catalog, which greatly expands upon the well-known and widely-used CISA KEV. The FP KEV contains more than three times the amount of known exploited vulnerabilities, with evidence and analyst notes attached. Leveraging Flashpoint’s vulnerability intelligence, organizations can better prioritize and proactively manage vulnerabilities.
Physical Security Intelligence
Organizations with distributed global assets face countless physical security challenges, whether it be from natural forces or targeted attacks. Echosec users were given the ability to centrally manage and monitor all their assets, using Flashpoint’s Location Protection capability which enabled them to receive tailored alerts based on specific needs and configurations.
This allows customers to centrally manage and monitor hundreds of physical assets such as warehouses, supply chain hubs, and travel routes for key personnel at once, without having to manually create and save searchers for each location.
Flashpoint AI: Making Already-Actionable Intel Faster
Flashpoint has been at the forefront, leveraging AI across our platforms to make it easier for users to find relevant data and gain the insights they need. Our AI-powered features help accelerate investigations for both our cyber threat intelligence researchers and for customers.
Automated Source Discovery
Flashpoint has been using AI to continuously identify and collect data from a vast array of online sources, ensuring comprehensive and timely coverage which means faster identification of emerging threats. Using Automated Source Discovery, this innovative approach has made our already expansive intelligence collections increase by more than ten times in terms of volume and speed.
Ignite AI
To take advantage of our constantly growing intelligence collection, we implemented AI into Flashpoint Ignite. Using this feature, it allows security practitioners to ask natural language questions and receive rapid informed-answers drawn from our extensive library of finished intelligence reports. This conversational search capability streamlines workflows and enhances decision-making by providing concise, actionable insights in a fraction of the time it would take with traditional methods.
Echosec Assist and Echosec AI
Newly to our Echosec platform, Echosec Assist, AI acts as your own assistant for open-source intelligence (OSINT) operations. It provides real-time insights and actionable recommendations directly within research and monitoring workflows, empowering security teams to make faster and more informed decisions.
Additionally, Echosec AI processes vast amounts of social media data, providing users with summaries, sentiment analysis, and search term recommendations—empowering organizations to quickly distinguish relevant information from chaff.
Stay Ahead of Threats Using Flashpoint
The cyber threat landscape will only get more intense as 2025 progresses and cybercriminals discover novel ways to compromise organizations and governments. As such, Flashpoint remains steadfast in our mission to help organizations protect people, places, and assets.
We are deepening our data collections, expanding our expertise, and harnessing the power of AI—all to provide our customers with the confidence they need to defend against the many threats impacting them. Sign up for a demo today to learn more.
